About Sikkim Manipal University
Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) started on November 15, 1992. It was once called Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences. The Government of Sikkim and the Manipal Pai Foundation signed an agreement to create it. They wanted to provide top-notch education and health care in Sikkim and across India. This university marks the first Public Private Partnership in India for higher education and health care.
